Hexacopter drone with 5 kg heroin found near India-Pakistan border in Punjab’s Tarn Taran

In Punjab's Tarn Taran region, a drone and 5 kg of heroin were discovered in a field not far from the India-Pakistan border, according to police reports on Friday. The Punjab Police and the Border Security Force collaborated to recover the hexacopter, an unmanned aerial vehicle with six rotors.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav tweeted, "Tarn Taran Police in a joint search operation with BSF have discovered a hexacopter drone equipped with modern technology & packets with heroin weighing 5 kg from fields near the Indo-Pak border."

According to reports, two Pakistani drones were shot down by the BSF just two days ago near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab, thwarting attempts to smuggle drugs across the border into the districts of Amritsar and Tarn Taran. The BSF personnel found two hexacopters that were hauling about 10 kilogrammes of heroin.

An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with six rotors called a hexacopter was shot down by a BSF women's unit in the first incident in Amritsar while it was flying into India from Pakistan carrying 3.11 kg of drugs. The BSF troops reportedly shot down another hexacopter near Kalash Havelian hamlet in Tarn Taran district carrying 6.6 kilos of heroin.
